Valemount of Valemount’s top staff member Wayne Robinson leaves the village.
A press release from the Village said it was “with regret” that they announced his departure. Robinson’s last day of work will be October 29, 2021.
Robinson joined the Village in 2019 and has served as Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Officer.
“The Council of the Village of Valemount appreciates the energy and expertise that Mr. Robinson demonstrated during his tenure at Valemount,” said Valemount Mayor Owen Torgerson. “Many of the Council’s priority undertakings have been implemented and accomplished, which has helped move our community forward. In thanks for his service to the Village of Valemount, we wish Mr. Robinson all the best in his future endeavors.
Robinson was on vacation when the news broke and was unavailable for an interview, but made a statement in a village press release.
“I will always look back on my stay in Valemount with tenderness and gratitude. I would like to thank the mayor and the council for the opportunity to serve as the general manager of the village. I really enjoyed my time working for Valemount; I am proud of the accomplishments achieved by working with a team of dedicated village employees and a progressive and supportive mayor and council.
“The future of Valemount is exceptionally bright,” he said. “And I look forward to witnessing the continued success of this community.
In 2019, Robinson moved to Valemount from Ashcroft where he had worked as Assistant General Manager. Valemount was his first stint as a CAD. The CAO oversees all other staff and is responsible for implementing the direction established by the Board.
The Village is now looking for suitable candidates to fill the CAD position.
