Tribute to Indo-Pakistani War Heroes of 1971 in Visakhapatnam

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Headquarters, Visakhapatnam, paid tribute to the braves of the army, who had sacrificed their lives for the nation, during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

Col. Dharmendra Pandey, Administrative Officer, NCC Group Headquarters, congratulated the family members of six bravehearts as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 50 years of victory in the Indo-Pakistani War on Sunday.

‘Vijaya Shrankhala’

Family members of Sepoy Ittamsetti Krishna Babu, Sepoy Sammingi Tulasi Ram, Grenadier Gurunodharoa Chikkala, Suribabu Yerramsetty, Major Bhanu Chander and Naik Botta Venkata Ramana from Visakhapatnam District, were facilitated to NCC Unit of 6 (Andhra) Air Squadron in Maddilapalem, as part of the “Vijaya Shrankhala” program organized throughout the country.

Speaking on the occasion, on behalf of Captain (Indian Navy) Niraj Sirohi, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Visakhapatnam, Colonel Pandey highlighted the sacrifices of these fallen soldiers, while protecting the nation. He added that a few of them sacrificed their lives defending their posts, while some sacrificed their lives while clearing the minefield and in a helicopter operation mission.
