When it comes to identifying specific threats, phishing attacks are always at the top of the list, followed closely by ransomware. More than half of the organizations surveyed said they had experienced an endpoint attack targeting end-user computers and mobile devices in the past 12 months.

With IT teams increasingly under pressure to ensure their systems are safe from attack, many face major challenges. The WatchGuard survey finds that budget and the right skills are the two biggest obstacles to improving security. Faced with these restrictions, the investigation also questioned the potential impact of a violation. While loss of revenue is seen as a major concern, respondents see the main threats to their business as loss of customer trust, damage to the brand, and potential consequences for compliance or regulation.

“Cybercriminals will always find new and inventive ways to mount their attacks and exploit the weakest links and target employees when they are most vulnerable,” said Jon-Marc Wilkinson, UK Sales Manager and Ireland at WatchGuard Technologies. “The survey reveals that homeworkers are the most at risk and that increasingly sophisticated phishing techniques are the most popular way to enter corporate networks. With limited budgets and skills, it’s more important than ever for businesses to spend their money wisely on technology that will help protect users and their devices – wherever they are – and that is easy to deploy and maintain. to manage.
