Meta is testing live chat support for people blocked on their accounts

Meta (formerly Facebook) is testing live chat support for people, including creators, whose access to their accounts has been blocked.

The test, currently available in the United States, focuses on those who cannot access their accounts due to unusual activity or whose accounts have been suspended due to a violation of community standards.

“On the Facebook app in particular, we have started testing live chat help for some English-speaking users around the world, including creators,” the company said in a statement Friday evening.

This will be the first time that Facebook will offer live help to people blocked on their accounts.

The company has also started a small test to provide live chat support to English-speaking creators in the US who do not yet have a Meta-assigned relationship manager to answer questions they might have on Facebook or Instagram. .

“Creators can access a dedicated creator support site when logged in through Facebook. There they can chat live with a support agent for help on a variety of issues ranging from the status of a payment to questions about a new feature like Reels, ”the social networking site said.

Meta added that it is adding more controls to help people manage the conversation around their content, like blocking a user and the new accounts they create, and improving the way they hide spam comments on their posts.

“With the hiding action now available next to each comment, you can quickly hide comments with one click and easily show all hidden comments in one place by changing the view of the comments filter on your posts,” announced Meta.

For keyword blocking, you can now automatically hide comments with word variations that use different numbers, symbols, or spellings.

“We are also testing the Moderation Assistant, which, similar to the Administration Assistant for Groups, makes it easy to set criteria to automatically moderate comments on your posts, reducing the time spent moderating comments.” , said Meta.

Meta is also piloting “Safety School,” a webinar focused on trust and safety for creators on Facebook and Instagram.

So far, the company has established links with creators in more than 27 countries and will expand this program and its resources to more creators over the next year.
