Jersey Shore Board Acts on Personnel Issues and Pay Rates | News, Sports, Jobs


JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Area School Board took action on staffing issues and set employee pay rates at its recent work session.

The board approved Nacoe Biser as primary college guard at $16.58 per hour and Brian F. Miller as full-time guard at $14.33 per hour.

Under the terms of the AFSCME contract, a differential of 20 cents per hour will be paid to Miller for second shift work.

The council also appointed Bambi Barto as a part-time food service employee at $10.35 an hour.

The Board has approved the following rates of pay for the respective positions:

— Secretary for 10 months, $33,000.

— 12-month secretary, $39,000.

— Administrative assistant 12 months, $42,500.

— Computer network technician, $48,000.

— Educational interpreter, $47,200.

— Fitness center supervisor, $2,700.

— Paraprofessionals, $19,000 – $25,000.

The following hourly rates have been established for the respective positions:

— Part-time janitor, $12.50.

— Brigadier, $13.75.

— Substitute school crossing guard, $13.75.

— Dining-room monitor, $10.

— Hourly help, $10.

— Head warden, $16.

— Security guard, $15.50.

— Event staff, $13.75.

— Attendant, $19.50.

— Fitness center worker, $10.25.

— Network computer technician, $16.25.

— Technology entry, $9.

— Technology 1. $10.

— Technology, 2, $11.25.

— Technology 3, $12.25.

— Technology 4, $13.25.

— Chef, high school, $20.25-$20.75.

– Chef, Jersey Shore Elementary, $19.25-$19.75.

– Chef, college, $18.25-$19.25.

– Chef, Avis/Salladasburg Elementary, $17.50-$18.

— Assistant cook (all buildings), $17.25 – $17.75.

The board approved a contract with Susquehanna’s Central Midstream Unit for computer services.

The food budget for 2022-23 has been approved.

The board renewed an agreement with the PSEA Health and Welfare Fund for vision benefits covered under the Jersey Shore Area Education Association contract.

Principals met in executive session to consider legal and personnel matters.
