// Central England Cooperative blocks fuel supplies for rescuers amid panic buying
// Points of sale where fuel is reserved for rescuers will display dedicated posters on site as supplies become available
Central England Cooperative said he would continue to restrict the fuel supply to rescuers.
The retailer made the move in response to strong demand for fuel that is currently being felt across the country due to panic buying and the shortage of heavy truck drivers.
Central England Chief Operating Officer of the Paul Dennis Cooperative said, “While the situation continues to improve, we believe it is currently absolutely vital that the valuable Blue Light workers in our communities get the fuel they need.
“So wherever possible, we prioritize rescuers to make sure they can stay on the road and continue their essential work. “
Points of sale where fuel is reserved for rescuers will display dedicated posters on site as supplies become available.
The distributor hopes to extend the offer to all of its service stations as soon as possible.
