Ogun State Police Command arrested administrative staff member Olawale Jamiu of the College of Health Technology in the Ilese Ijebu area of Ogun State for allegedly raping a female student in his office.
Staff at Allegi Randy College, 39, were arrested following a report filed at the Ilese Ijebu Division Headquarters by the college leadership.
Ogun State Police Command spokesperson DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said: “They reported that the victim was raped when she went to get her school records from the suspect’s office. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect dragged the victim into the case file room and forcibly had sex with her. The victim then reported the incident to her guardian who in turn reported the incident to the school authority.
“On the report, the Dpo Ilese division, CSP Amuda Ajibola, quickly detailed its detectives at the college where the suspect was quickly arrested.
During questioning, the suspect who initially denied the allegation was stunned when confronted with the apology message he sent to the victim after his evil act.
“The victim was taken to Ijebu Ode State Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Edward Awolowo Ajogun, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti-Trafficking in Human Beings and Child Labor Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the ‘State, for further investigation and diligent prosecution’.
